NECi Nitrate Reductase (NaR; EC 1.7.7.1)
purified from Corn Leaves

NECi purifies NADH: nitrate reductase (NaR) from corn leaves by monoclonal antibody-based immunoaffinity chromatography [1]. Corn NaR has a high specific activity (40 to 60 units/mg NaR; unit = µmol/min).
This is the highest specific activity "natural" NaR (ie. most highly purified) commercially available, anywhere in the world.  Corn NaR is highly stable and can be shipped at room temperature. Since NECi corn leaf NaR uses NADH as electron donor, it is less expensive to use than NADPH dependent NaR forms, such as those purified from fungi.  A detailed review of the biochemistry of NaR was published by W. H. Campbell [2].

Corn Leaf NaR is now only sold for basic research!
